DIY home security systems versus professional installation - your experiences?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide whether to go the DIY route with a home security system or hire professionals for the installation. On one hand, the DIY systems seem more affordable and convenient. On the other hand, I worry about whether I'll install everything correctly and if it will be as secure as a professionally installed system. Has anyone had experience with both? What were the pros and cons of each, and which would you recommend? I'm mainly considering alarm systems and CCTV.

It's fascinating how security systems have evolved from being relatively simple to incredibly complex, integrated smart home solutions. The level of sophistication now available is amazing, but it also makes the decision-making process much more challenging. Just choosing the right company can be a minefield!
