Meet Our Team

Olivia Clemente

Executive Director

Olivia Clemente has served as Executive Director of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District (BID) since February 2022, after joining the organization in April 2021. Over the past four years, she has led the transformation of Downtown Troy into a vibrant, experience-driven destination through strategic programming, partnerships, and marketing initiatives.

Under her leadership, the BID has significantly expanded its event portfolio, revitalizing signature events such as Riverfest, Rockin’ on the River, Pig Out, and Chowderfest, while launching new, high-impact activations including the Hot Chocolate Stroll, Pride Night Out, and enhanced Troy Night Out programming. These efforts have driven increased foot traffic, tourism, and measurable growth for local businesses.

Olivia has also strengthened the BID’s financial sustainability, successfully advancing the first assessment increase since the organization’s founding in 2008 and significantly growing sponsorship revenue to expand programming and district-wide initiatives.

Her work is centered on supporting the small business community and strengthening Downtown Troy’s identity as a regional destination. She has secured major grant funding, including support from New York State, and built strong partnerships to advance initiatives in beautification, public space activation, and economic development.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and History from Manhattan College.

Evelyn Preston

Director of Marketing

Evelyn Preston began her journey with the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District in January 2024 as an intern, quickly growing into the role of Social Media Manager by May 2024. By September 2024, she assumed full leadership of the organization’s marketing efforts, overseeing strategy, execution, and creative direction across all channels.

Prior to joining the BID, Evelyn built a strong foundation in communications through both academics and hands-on experience. She earned her Master’s degree in Communications from the University at Albany and held roles including Social Media Manager for the Legislative Gazette in Albany and for the SUNY New Paltz Zine Club, where she honed her skills in digital storytelling and audience engagement.

At the BID, Evelyn’s work has included developing and maintaining an accurate downtown business directory, creating and executing comprehensive social media campaigns, and managing large-scale community events such as Shop Small, Chowderfest, and Restaurant Week. Her approach to marketing is rooted in storytelling—highlighting the people who live, work, and create in Downtown Troy, and capturing the authentic energy that makes the city a true community.
