Star + Splendor is a metaphysical gift shop that specializes in fine spiritual goods. They have a large stock of goods that can be added to your spiritual practice from books, candles, herbs, crystals, tarot decks, and so much more!

What item are you excited to highlight this holiday season?

Ami is most excited about a set of beautiful bayberry wax candles handmade in a woman-owned candle studio in Pennsylvania. They’re made of bayberry wax and beeswax, so they burn slowly and cast a warm light. Traditionally, they’re burned at the winter solstice or the new year to attract prosperity, health, and good living for the year ahead. They’re essentially a little spell in a box, and they come in a lovely giftable package.

What makes Troy special to you?

"I lived in Troy for 10 years before moving to where I am now, and I’ve always loved the vibrancy of the artistic community here."

Why shop small this holiday season?

"Shopping with small businesses is a no-brainer for me—both as a shop owner and as a consumer. When you shop small, you’re often much closer to the source of the product. With my shop and many others in town, you’re directly supporting creators and business owners in your own community. They, in turn, spend their money locally. It becomes a circular investment in the place where you live and shop."
