Donating to the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District (BID) is essential for fostering economic growth, enhancing community vibrancy, and improving overall quality of life. Contributions support initiatives such as marketing campaigns, beautification efforts, and community events, which attract visitors, retain businesses, and create job opportunities

The tax assessment only covers 45% of our operating expenses.
The remaining funding comes from sponsorships, special events, fundraising, grants and other partnerships.

Donations help sustain and enhance the economic vitality of Downtown Troy by supporting local businesses, attracting visitors, and fostering a vibrant community.​
Contributions aid in the development of Downtown Troy as a thriving cultural and social hub, promoting community engagement, events, and activities that benefit residents and visitors alike.
Funds go towards beautification efforts such as landscaping, street cleaning, and maintenance, ensuring that Downtown Troy remains an attractive and welcoming environment for all.
Donations help finance safety and security initiatives, such as lighting improvements and community policing programs, making Downtown Troy a safer place to live, work, and visit.
Supporting the BID enables effective marketing and promotion campaigns that showcase the unique offerings of Downtown Troy, attracting tourists, shoppers, and investors to the area.
2024 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
We Added 56 additional brackets throughout the Downtown to add a total of 150 hanging baskets in collaboration with The City of Troy and National Grid.​
We held a Beautification Fundraiser at 353 raised $1,400 to help cover the cost for purchasing more hanging baskets in 2025.
We held a College Scavenger Hunt with over 150 students and visitors participating to find a Troy Brick in select retail stores.
We welcomed 16 new businesses into Downtown Troy in 2024:

We received a $10,000 grant from the Troy Savings Music Hall Foundation for Troyful Glow. The BID placed artists and musicians inside our retail shops to perform throughout the night during Troy Glow, this event brought over 2,000 people to the Downtown.
The Downtown Troy BID and CDTA partnered together to bring the Ridership Program to Downtown Troy. This program offers free bus rides for all employees located in the BID district.
We expanded Hot Chocolate Stroll participation from 250 to 350, both years sold out!
We filmed the first Shop Small Downtown Troy commercial airing on local TV throughout the Capital Region and Hudson Valley.
We partnered with the City of Troy and the Art Center of the Capital Region to bring more holiday decor to the Downtown Troy District.
We initiated Raise. Plant. Grow, planting 10 trees in the Downtown.
