What’s the Most Helpful Advice You’ve Ever Received?

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of advice that actually sticks with you. A few years ago, when I was juggling work and family stuff, someone told me to stop trying to fix everything at once and just handle “the next doable thing.” Sounds simple, but it really changed how I deal with stress. I’m curious if anyone else has had that moment where a random bit of advice ended up making a big difference long-term.

For me it was something my old coworker said: “If it’s not a real emergency, don’t treat it like one.” I didn’t get it at first, but it really hit me later when I burned out from trying to respond to everything instantly. Slowing down actually made me better at my job. By the way, I came across this on https://onbasetalk.com a while back, and it reminded me how keeping perspective can seriously change how you approach everyday problems. Funny how small shifts in mindset can help you avoid overreacting to things that don’t matter as much as they feel in the moment.
