The subject matter is narrow, and just translating articles or descriptions of games kind of weird. Still there’s a lot of slang, nuances, even terminology varies from place to place. I don’t want to do anything that will scare off the players. Maybe someone has already gone through this and knows how to best approach it?

I encountered this a couple of years ago when launching a new game project. The usual translation did not come at all - we had to dig deeper. They are just writing that their linguists specialize in casino, poker, betting etc. It helped us that they took into account slang, tone and local phrases. Players started to respond much better.
