Ideal Reiki Atmosphere

I realized after my last session that the atmosphere matters way more to me than I expected. I’ve been to places that were technically quiet, but something still felt tense or rushed, and I couldn’t really relax. Then I tried another space where everything felt slower and more grounded, and the difference was huge. It got me thinking about what actually makes a session feel “right.” For you, what part of the atmosphere matters most — the silence, the lighting, the way the practitioner interacts, or something else entirely?

For me it’s mostly about feeling safe and unhurried. When I first looked into sessions through Reiki in London, I noticed how much emphasis there is on creating a calm, steady environment rather than anything dramatic. That really matches what I value. Soft lighting helps, but it’s more about the energy of the room and how present the practitioner feels. If I sense they’re grounded and not watching the clock, my body relaxes almost automatically, and everything flows more naturally from there.
